As a Dh1.2 billion agreement is inked, additional information regarding train compartments, classes, and amenities is disclosed.
The highly awaited passenger trains for Etihad Rail will be designed, produced, supplied, and maintained under a Dh1.2 billion arrangement. In the Sakamkam neighborhood, where the first passenger train station will be constructed in the center of Fujairah city, Etihad Rail and Spain’s CAF firm signed their deal.
Each train will have a seating capacity of more than 400 people and a top speed of 200kmph under the parameters of the deal. A “variety of seating segments” will be available on the trains.
With the trains, transportation between UAE cities would be made easier and more affordable for passengers while also being speedy, effective, safe, and comfortable.
From Al Sila to Fujairah, the passenger train will link 11 UAE towns and areas, including Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, and Abu Dhabi. Passenger services will make it possible for travelers to more efficiently organize their trips between the Emirates and the cities of the UAE, from purchasing tickets to arriving at their destination.
Compared to other forms of transportation, they will cut the commuting time by 30% to 40%. Only 50 minutes are needed to get from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and from Dubai to Fujairah. Only 70 minutes will pass between Abu Dhabi and Al Ruwais on the commute, compared to 100 minutes between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.
