TRAFFICKING IS LAUNCHED BY DUBAI POLICE

In connection with the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, the Dubai Police General Command has launched a three-day campaign through an interactive platform at the Dubai Mall with the tagline “Drugs… A Painful Ending.”

The three-day campaign attempts to increase community members’ awareness of the peril posed by psychoactive drugs and narcotics. It also entails a variety of education-related initiatives in partnership with the strategic partners of the Dubai Police, the Government of Dubai Media Office, the Drugs Control Council, the Awareness and Juvenile Welfare Association, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the National Rehabilitation Center, the Ministry of Community Development, Al Ameen Service, the Community Development Authority, Emirates Health Services, the Erada Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation, and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority

The Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, affirmed the Dubai Police’s commitment and eagerness to intensify action and cooperation to realize the objective of a global society free from drug misuse on this occasion.

He also emphasized on the importance of this day in reinforcing the gravity and danger of drugs of abuse and psychotropic substances, as well as the need for coordinated worldwide efforts to fight this evil and safeguard societies from its destructive effects.
