THE EXPECTED DATE OF EID AL ADHA IS JULY 9

Astronomical estimates predict that the Islamic month of ZUL HIJJAH will likely start on Thursday, June 30. According to the Emirates Astronomical Society, Eid Al Adha, which is celebrated on ZUL HIJJAH 10, would fall on July 9.

On ZUL HIJJAH 9, Muslims celebrate the Day of Arafah. Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the society’s president, claims that the day corresponds to Friday, July 8.

Residents of the UAE will have a four-day holiday to celebrate the festival. Arafah Day and the three days of Eid Al Adha are included in the break.

Astronomical calculations suggest that this would occur between Friday, July 8 and Monday, July 11.

Around this time, there will likely be a spike in demand for travel as many Emiratis and expats take vacations.
